Steve began his rugby career auspiciously in the 1983 Turkey Bowl at USD where he fell in love with the game. During his tenure at SDSU he was the treasurer for the team for two years. In 1988 after suffering a season ending injury he turned to coaching where he was the forwards coach for the next three seasons before leaving the SD area. Upon his return to SD he played briefly for the Old Aztecs but his heart is never to far from the pitch.

Steve has been in the investment business for 16 years. The son of a Marine he currently resides in Spring Valley with his bride Tammi and their two children Charlie and Katie.
