The Foundation Hosted a Successful Alumni Weekend

During the weekend of October 16th, The Foundation hosted, for the first time ever, the annual Alumni Weekend. The event started on Friday with a day of golf at Tecolote Canyon. Aztec Rugby supporters and alumni, tested their golf skills under the perfect San Diego weather. The festivities ended that night with a catered, barbecued dinner and raffle. On Saturday, the Alumni showed-up at Dusty Rhodes Park to play the next generation of fellow Aztec Rugby Alumni. Both sides played their hearts out, and a fun, competitive time was had by all. The afternoon ended with an inspirational speech by fellow Aztec Rugby Alumni, Dave Mason and a barbecued, tri-tip meal, catered by Hunter Steakhouse. David Crist, Foundation president stated, “It was impressive to see all the alumni out supporting the team in these economic times. The monies raised today will go to support the Aztec Rugby Team as they make their way to the final four. Even though the weekend was successful we have a long way to go to meet the student’s requirement for the year.” The Foundation would like to thank all who participated to make this such a successful event..
